Essential Oils
All our essential oils are extracted using traditional methods, specifically steam distillation with a copper still. The herbs come from our own certified organic cultivation or are wild-harvested in carefully selected locations. Harvesting takes place around midday to ensure a high oil content in the plants. The plants require several days of intense sunshine to produce the essential oil.
Plants produce essential oil for various reasons: to attract insects for pollination, to repel pests (the oil thus serves as a means of communication), or as protection against disease. Their effectiveness against bacteria, viruses, and fungi makes essential oils particularly valuable in the treatment of skin and respiratory ailments.
